PHILIPS EHOME INFRARED RECEIVER WINDOWS
It's like windows is shutting down all usb ports within itself even though the hardware is still alowing them to stay powered. I double checked all the power mgmt settings and all that crap and nothing that's on usb seems to be powered in hibernation in spite of a usb internal card reader still having it's light on.
PHILIPS EHOME INFRARED RECEIVER PC
I also remembered that for some reason nothing on any usb port will wake the pc regardless of what usb port i use. I rehashed the whole thing yesterday and the only thing i can think of is after having it work in vista and finding it not work in win7 i must have updated the bios to a version that botched the vista side as well. I double checked my remote and it doesn't work with the original vs the harmony still. I've been working for two days trying to fix this issue. Thanks and sorry my first post had to be asking for help. Especially since it had been working fine earlier with windows vista. I don't understand how the mouse is able to wake up the pc but the usb ir receiver does not. Mine is set to do so yet it still acts like it's not. The OP left the subject open to go check if the device was set to allow wake up but never returned to indicate if it resolved the issue.

Now with windows 7 it goes into suspend but the ir receiver seems to be turned off as the light does not flash indicating it's receiving commands while in hibernation. The remote also worked fine two days ago when i had vista installed. Everything is USB and the mouse wakes it fine.
I am experiencing a problem very similar to the original poster where my remote will shut down the pc fine and functions just fine but it will not wake the pc from hibernation. I'm from the US though so i hope you don't mind me asking questions. I have searched high and low for someone having the same issue as me and i finally found this thread. I did find the following product, but cannot find anyone who actuallys sells it, and the website is in German I dont think the BIOS is the problem however, as it wakes up fine using the mouse or keyboard. I've looked through the BIOS for any relevant settings but cant find anything. So my guess is that the PC isnt gettiong any signal, because the IR receiver isnt getting any power. When the PC is in a shutdown or Standby state, it would appear no power is going to the IR receiver, because when I press buttons on the remote control, I dont see a red light on the IR receiver (which I do whe the PC is on). If I put the PC into S1 or S3 state, I can press a button on the mouse, or keyboard and the PC wakes up fine.but not via the remote control/IR receiver. I've tried waking it up using the remote control from standby S1 and S3, and from total power off. However, I just cannot get it to wake up. I'm even able to shut the PC down using the remote. I have a remote control setup using eventghost, all working great with XBMC. This probably isnt HTPC specific, but I guess some of you guys might be able to answer this
